Organization information: Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), represents a leading public university, in Italy and in Europe, in technical-scientific teaching and research. Founded almost 150 years ago, Politecnico di Torino offers excellence in technology and promotes the ability to carry out theoretical and applied research and also the capacity to achieve concrete and reliable productive processes or organise services and facilities. The range of studies is broad and ever-widening: it spans space, environment and land, telecommunications, information, energy, mechanics, electronics, chemistry, automation, industrial design, architecture and building, etc. With more than 150 bilateral international agreements and 40 double degree agreements, POLITO has links with the most prestigious Universities in Europe and is part of the major European interuniversity networks, such as CESAER, CLUSTER, E.C.I.U, EUA, and CMU. As regards H2020, POLITO is involved in 58 projects, with an EU contribution of around 25 million Euro. POLITO integrates the consortium of SERENA through the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (DAUIN) which is the point of for the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Innovative methodologies and technologies used for the management, processing and transmission of information have been continuously proposed. DAUIN provides two key ICT contributions to the SERENA project: (i) IoT platforms and middleware design, and (ii) Big Data management solutions and data-driven analytics algorithms for prognostics.

Role in SERENA: POLITO will bring its technical expertise to the SERENA consortium.
